US debt yields touch Highe11-year highs

Yields on 10-year US debt touched their highest level since April 2011 on Monday as investors prepare for another interest rate hike by the Fed.

The expectation that the Federal Reserve (Fed) will raise key interest rates by 75 or 100 basis points this week has pushed US 10-year debt yields to their highest since April 2011.

This Monday, 10-year Treasuries touched an 11-year high of 3.518% before easing to around 3.48%.

The yield on two-year debt reached 3.961%, a level not seen since November 2007.

By now, the inversion of the yield curve, which compares two- and 10-year yields, has reached a 48 basis point difference, pointing to a recession in the next year or two.
