The euro rises slightly against the dollar

The euro appreciated slightly against the dollar on Wednesday, but even traded below parity after the release of producer prices in the United States, trading at $0.9984.

At 5.45 p.m. (Lisbon time), the euro was still trading at 1.0006 dollars, while on Tuesday, at almost the same time, it was trading at 1.0002 dollars.

However, the euro fell against the pound and the yen.

The European Central Bank (ECB) today fixed the exchange rate of the euro at 0.9990 dollars.

In today’s session, the euro ranged from a low of $0.9961 to a high of $1.00237.

Producer prices in the United States fell to 8.7% year-on-year in August, down from 9.8% in the previous month.

However, this indicator was not as positive as expected by the markets, so it is now “more likely” that the Federal Reserve will “aggressively” raise interest rates in September, so the dollar should appreciate.
