Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp may get paid features.
Meta has sent out an internal statement to workers indicating that it is in the process of identifying and developing “possibly paid features.”
The news was advanced by Meta itself in an internal statement sent to workers, a statement that was obtained by The Verge website. It is known that this division will be led by Pratiti Raychoudhury, who until now has been in charge of Meta’s research department.
The idea of charging for some features of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp must surely be related to the intention to generate more revenue. Recall that the ability of Meta to generate revenue from ads was undermined by new privacy measures approved by Apple, thus forcing Mark Zuckerberg‘s technology to seek other solutions.
