iPhone 14: All rumors revealed about Apple’s new smartphone
We are just a few days away from the launch of the new iPhone 14. With it, Apple will bring many new features and also new devices, such as the Apple Watch Series 8. Over the last year, with the iPhone 13 still coming to life, rumours have been circulating about what may be shown in a few days, specifically next September 7, at 6 p.m.
Every year, Apple reinforces its line of different iPhone models with new SoCs. These guarantee an increase in performance and an ever greater performance, the result of all the developments that the brand makes in its proposals.
This year should be the same, and the information now revealed seems to show it. The A16 SoC should keep the 5 nanometer manufacturing process but with higher density, which will ensure better performance compared to last year’s model, the A15 Bionic.
Apple should limit the use of the A16 to the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
As usual at this time, the world is throbbing with information that may, much of it, be present in the product to be released in a few days, the new iPhone 14. There will be 4 models (14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max), with two screen sizes (6.1 for the regular and Pro models, and 6.7 inches for the Plus and Pro Max models).
The only ones with a new processor will be the Pro models, as well as the only ones with an “Always On” screen and changes to the notch, which will now have two screen cutouts, one circular and one capsule-shaped, which will be seen as a single cutout when the screen is on.
Between the two physical cutouts will be privacy indicators, which will be green and orange depending on whether the camera or microphone (or both) are in use. This new notch will allow you to change some elements of the status bar at the top of the screen, which will show the battery percentage as before, outside the icon, and also rearrange other elements, such as the cover bars, which will move to the left.
The Pro models will have the biggest camera improvements. A 48MP main sensor with the ability to record 8K video will be one of the main improvements, but not the only one. The wide-angle lens will be improved with a larger sensor and larger pixels, so more light will be captured and low-light photos will require less processing to remove noise, which will improve photo quality.
The front camera will be improved with auto-focus and an f/1.9 aperture, so pictures will also be improved.
So, and to summarise what is known, the iPhone 14 may have a front camera with auto focus for the first time, improved facial recognition sensors, a new 48MP wide-angle system, improved telephoto and ultra-wide-angle sensors, and improvements for video recording and low-light photography.
Surely there will be tinkering with this important module. According to a Baidu post, the regular iPhone 14 may feature a 3,279 mAh battery compared to the 3,227 mAh iPhone 13. The 14 Pro might use a 3,200 mAh battery compared to the 3,095 mAh iPhone 13 Pro. On the other hand, the 14 Pro Max will have a slightly smaller battery, with 4,323 mAh compared to the 13 Pro Max with 4,352 mAh.
In addition, rumors have also surfaced about the charging power of the new models, and it seems that Apple plans to increase it to 30W of power.
This power will only be used to the maximum at the beginning of the device’s charging process, because after that it would be progressively reduced to conserve battery life. Apple will then release a 30w charger with GaN technology, which allows chargers to be smaller and heat up less.
Of course, the charger will not be included in the box.
This is one of the most talked about aspects that we know the least about. It is taken for granted that the iPhone will increase in price, but we don’t know which models, or how much.
On the one hand, we have the rising price of components, the inflation that is punishing the price of all products, and the dollar-euro exchange rate, which is not benefiting us at all at the moment. But on the other hand, Apple will have to take into account the global economic situation which could seriously affect sales if the price increase is excessive.
As we have seen over the years, the company knows how to handle prices very well, and will certainly point out that with the new 6.7″ iPhone 14 Plus it will not be necessary to spend so much money to have a large screen size, so far reserved for the Pro models.
However, the Pro models, which will see the biggest improvements, are already quite expensive and a price increase could seriously affect their sales.
In total, our estimates are as follows:
iPhone 14 – 929
iPhone 14 Plus – 1099 euro
iPhone 14 Pro – $1,279
iPhone 14 Pro Max – $1,379
