SpaceX donation to Ukraine was financed by the US government
The Starlink terminals donated by SpaceX to Ukraine were, after all, paid for by the US, reports The Washington Post. Available information indicates that the 3,667 Starlink terminals were partially financed by the US government.
According to the publication, the Agency for International Development will have paid $1,500 for each unit of a package consisting of 1,333 terminals – which means that the total amount paid to SpaceX will have been around $2 million.
This information was obtained via a press release published by the US Agency for International Development in April, but since then all references to this deal will have been removed.
