Facebook blocks Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro account for disinformation about covid-19
According to AFP, Facebook announced today that it “blocked” Nicolas Maduro account for 30 days, after “repeated violations” of the American company’s policy regarding disinformation linked to the covid-19.
“Due to repeated violations of our regulations, we blocked the page for 30 days, in the mean time the page content can only be read,” a company spokesman told AFP.
Venezuela has accounted for 1,532 deaths and 154,165 cases of the covid-19 since the beginning of the detection of the disease in the country in March 2020.
The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 2,768,431 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 126 million cases of infection, according to a report made by the French agency AFP. The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
