Instagram leader will respond to US Congress regarding young people mental health
Instagram lead person, Adam Mosseri, was summoned to the US Congress in December.
As The New York Times reports, this visit by Mosseri is potentially related to the effect of the social network on the mental health of younger people (especially among girls). Remember that this was an issue addressed in the internal documents revealed by the former worker and ‘whistleblower’ Frances Haugen.
Mosseri was convened by the leader of the subcommittee dedicated to consumer protection, Richard Blumenthal.
“[Adam Mosseri] is the leader of Instagram and the entire nation is wondering why Instagram and other platforms have created so much danger and harm by bringing toxic content to kids with these powerful algorithms,” says Blumenthal in the publication.
