Amazon wants to enter the cryptocurrency business and is searching for an expert
Amazon, the fourth-largest company on the planet with a market value of $1.84 trillion, wants a leader in cryptocurrencies and blockchain. According to a job advertisement from the company, the professional will work in the area of acceptance and payment experience.
“You will leverage your domain expertise in blockchain, distributed registration, Central Bank Digital Currencies and cryptocurrencies to develop the case for the features that must be developed, drive the product overview and strategy, and gain leadership and investment buy-in for new features,” says the ad.
Published on Thursday (23), the job offer is intended for professionals who have a deep knowledge of the digital ecosystem, cryptocurrencies and related matters.

Furthermore, one is looking for someone who has at least a bachelor’s degree, and preferably an MBA or equivalent course.
In addition, the candidate must have a minimum of ten years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology.
Based on the announcement alone, it’s not clear whether Amazon is considering launching its own digital currency. Another possibility would be to accept payments in Bitcoin and other cryptoactives.
However, none of this was confirmed by a company spokesman who spoke after the repercussion of the case:
It is worth noting that, in June, Amazon released another vacancy looking for a professional with experience in decentralized finance (DeFi). As reported, the new employee would lead the Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) project.
About two months ago, Apple also opened a position for a development manager with experience in cryptocurrencies. In this case, the professional would work in the company’s “Alternative Payments” sector.
