The first solar powered car is closer to reality
Lightyear, a Dutch startup known for its solar-powered car – the Lightyear One – announced that it has found a partnership to produce the vehicle.
The chosen one is the Finnish Valmet Automotive, a company that signed a letter of intent with Lightyear for the production of the first prototypes from the beginning of 2022.
As The Verge tells, the idea is to proceed from this phase with the construction of almost thousand vehicles.

Lightyear recently announced that its first vehicle managed to travel 710km (441 miles) on a single charge, thus raising expectations for what could be the first production car powered by solar energy.
