The state of California approved a new measure to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, decreeing that transport services like Uber and Lyft will have to have a fleet of almost 100% of these cars by the end of 2030.

The rule indicates that, by 2023, 2% of trips on these services will have to be made with electric cars. The percentage will increase to 50% in 2027 and to 90% in 2030.

It should be noted that this goal of the state of California is in line with that of Uber and Lyft, which have already indicated that they intend to complete the transition to electric vehicles over the decade.
