Bitcoin miners are making $2 million an hour in 2021
Bitcoin (BTC) miners are generating significant revenue from their work of protecting and validating transactions on the network.
So far, in 2021, they have generated more than $6,059 billion in rewards for issuing new cryptocurrencies and transaction commissions.
On average, they are generating almost $50 million a day. That is, about $2 million an hour.
According to data from The Block, the highest volume of revenue this year was recorded during the months of March and April.
The third month of the year was the most profitable, with $1.75 billion generated, representing the best month in history for Bitcoin miners.
Of this amount, $1.583 billion comes from the issuance of BTC and another $167 million from transaction fees. In April the miners had a $1.7 billion revenue.
Only twice the monthly income of miners exceeded US $1.5 billion.
