Amazon more than triples profits to $8 billion
The company led by Jeff Bezos (Amazon), the richest man in the world, according to Forbes magazine, earned $108.5 billion in the first quarter of this year, compared with the $75.5 billion in 2020.
These values exceeded analysts’ expectations and the security appreciated three percent in electronic exchanges, carried out after the closing of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
Amazon is one of the companies that most profited in the year of the new coronavirus pandemic, thanks to the sharp growth of e-commerce, resulting from restrictions on mobility and the closing or reduction of capacity and hours of physical establishments.
Grocery stores and cleaning products were some of the products that people started to obtain more through the e-commerce platform, whose offer, in fact, is growing steadily.
