Competition leads Apple to cut production of AirPods
Apple announced to investors at the latest financial results presentation that it plans to cut AirPod production by 25 to 35%, says the Nikkei Asian Review.
Instead of following the previous plans to produce 110 million units of AirPods, Apple now plans to produce between 75 to 85 million of them. Apple has indicated that demand for AirPods has declined, this is the result of more competition from Asian manufacturers entering the scene.
It is believed that Apple will reveal the third generation of AirPods later this year, and it is not yet known when the company will announce the new models.
