Apple plans to invest more than $430 billion in the US in the next 5 years
Tech giant Apple announced on Monday (26) new investments in the United States worth more than $430 billion that will come with the creation of 20,000 jobs over the next five years.
Apple’s executive chairman Tim Cook, revealed that about $1 billion will be destineed to the creation of a campus in North Carolina, he also said that the new jobs would be in both the new 5G technology and the development of artificial intelligence.
“We are creating jobs” in cutting edge “areas, from 5G to silicon engineering and artificial intelligence, investing in the next generation of new innovative businesses and in all our work, building a more ecological and equitable future”, said Cook.
Regarding the North Carolina campus, the American technology company stressed that the investment will include an engineering center in the Research Triangle Area and will create 3,000 jobs in “machine learning, artificial intelligence, software engineering and other cutting-edge areas” .
Apple will launch a $100 million fund to support initiatives by schools and communities in the state’s Raleigh-Durham region and will invest more than $110 million in infrastructure in the 80 most needy counties in North Carolina.
“At this time of recovery and reconstruction, at Apple we are doubling our commitment to innovation and production in the United States, with generational investments reaching communities in all 50 states,” added Tim Cook.
