Ripple CEO says that each Bitcoin transaction costs 75 gallons of gas
Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple CEO, said in a recent interview with Bloomberg that each Bitcoin (BTC) transaction consumes energy equivalent to 75 gallons of gasoline.
“As the price of Bitcoin goes up, the energy consumed and the carbon footprint of the proof of work system also escalate aggressively,” he said.

“Also, we must not forget that each transaction with the currency is equivalent to 75 gallons of gasoline being burned,” concluded Garlinghouse, regarding the crypto.

On the other hand, the CEO of the company that produces the cryptocurrency XRP did not present the data that corroborate his claims.
