Netflix reportedly acquired the rights to the two movies for $450 million. This is a huge amount, but considering the success of the original movie, it is possible that Netflix will be able to make the investment worthwhile. The original movie got a $215 million revenue against $132 million in costs, resulting in a profit of $83 million.
Director Rian Johnson and protagonist Daniel Craig are also guaranteed for these next two movies.
