Trump calls for sanctions for Twitter, Google and Facebook
Former U.S. President Donald Trump was on the last day of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, where he argued that tech giants should be targeted for sanctions if they censor Republican personalities.
“All the measures of electoral integrity in the world will mean nothing if we do not have freedom of expression. If Republicans can be censored for speaking the truth and denouncing corruption, we will not have a democracy and we will only have the tyranny of the left, ” said Trump .
The foermer POTUS also said that the time has come to “dismantle the monopolies of the big technology”, returning to defend that social networks should be responsible for the content that is shared on their platforms.
“If the federal government refuses to act, then every state in which we have votes – which are many – must punish technological giants like Twitter, Google and Facebook with big sanctions whenever they censor conservative voices,” said Trump.
