Jaguar is transitioning to all electric and Land Rover to go mostly electric
Jaguar, an Indian-owned luxury car brand, will produce only electric vehicles from 2025 and restructure as its non-UK car operations. Jaguar Land Rover states that “it will substantially reduce and rationalize its non-productive infrastructure in the UK”. They not say whether this meant job cuts.
The Jaguar Land Rover CEO Thierry Bollore announced on Monday that Jaguar will become an all-electric luxury brand by 2025, while Land Rover will launch six pure-electric models over the next five years.
“In the next five years, Land Rover will welcome six pure-electric variants as it continues to be the world leader of luxury SUVs through it’s three families of Range Rover, Discovery and Defender. The first all electric variant will arrive in 2024,”.
“By the middle of the decade, Jaguar will have been reborn to emerge as a purely electric luxury brand, ” reveals a statement from Jaguar Land Rover, which aims to become a zero carbon company by 2039.
